Santa Barbara Wedding

So, we got to santa barbara alright. it did take 24 hours to drive staight thru, 5 people in a car, a bad border crossing line, and lots of stops. but, we got there with no major mishaps.

we arrived the morning thrusday, went to breakfeast, and took naps. then off to pick up noel, and bring him over to our place. then, some dinner, and off to LAX to pick up fiona! back late in the night, and some talking, and too bed exhausted.

while we were gone in LAX, the 3 boys that stayed home had a little fun recording a song about events that transpired with noel and marko, at the 76 gas station in topenga. its a hit for sure, so check it out.

the festivities started the following day.

we had a nice breakfeast, hit the beach, which was freezing cold due to the wind. came back, and got ready to head over to the golf course for the wedding. got there, and of course the ceremony is over looking the ocean and santa barbara, on a beautiful green lawn. everything went off without a hitch, and was really super amazing. ceremony happened, and off to the main building for drinking and eating.

so, there were 3 photographers that were hired for the wedding, little did dan and bev know their 4th photog, me, was on the scene. i skipped the ceremony, as sitting down, ill never get as good as pictures as the pros. but i think i held my own at the reception. i was all up in the “pig’s” business, as the merriments began, and took incognito photos over dan and bev and others.

below are just a few, but head over to the flickr page for all of the best shots i think i took.

some definate fun was had by all.

so, things wrapped up, we attempted to go to a bar at midnight, but it being a holiday, things were nuts and we said forget that. then, the next day was a BBQ at the house that bride and groom rented. pretty sweet with a pool, and delicious food. i had a slideshow running of the picks that i uploaded to flickr. took a few shots, not a whole lot though. ill be getting those posted too.

i also managed to squeeze in a few photoshoots, which, well, i learned lots. the ones outside was me mostly trying to wrangle the ambient light, and the indoor ones turned out pretty well, i think. ill get those up too, as ive had much demand for them to be seen.

then, the following morning, back home. we drove lucky to San Fran, left her there, and the 4 of us made it home in 22 hours. phew.
