Agamon Hula Nature Reserve

While it was still fall here in Israel, we went for a day trip to the Agamon Hula Nature Reserve.  its in the northern part of the country, and migratory birds are using some lakes there as a stop over on their way from europe to africa.  the place has gained in popularity, and there are organized tours on busses with shade’s on them now in order to make less impact on the birds.  Noa’s parents organized the trip for us, and off we went.

we got there about an hour before dusk, and already the area was filled with birds coming in to rest for the evening.

Amsterdam Nov 2013

on our way home from Mexico City, we flew through amsterdam, where i had not been in a few years.  it was really nice to be back and see the old haunts, but it was freezing cold, probably a few degrees the day we were out and about.  we just ran into the city during a long layover, after leaving mexico city to atlanda, and from there flying to amsterdam. so at this point i was pretty tired, but the brisk air for sure helped keep me up.

I always find it difficult to photograph places i have lived in.  everything looks so normal, and its hard to get inspiration.  and of course we were just walking around trying to get from point A to B, so your not really in full photography mindset

it was really nice to be back, and we will have to try to visit for a longer time again.

Mexico, visiting Taxco

Another highly recommended trip to us was to visit Taxco.  apparently theres nothing else like it.  so since the wedding was over, and most people had left, we decided to take a day trip there with jaime via public transport on the second to last day in Mexico City.

we again had a similar experience leaving mexico city, it was super hazy in the city and foggy in the upper mountains, but as soon as we got over them, the sun appeared!  On this trip we had taken the metro to the central bus station, and from there we got on one of those nicer coaches for the almost 1.5 hour drive.

As soon as we got there i was blown away by the city.  driving in we saw how hilly it was, but i don’t think we really realized it yet.
