lately

im sitting here, at my computer, organizing my music collection. mostly as a reason to listen to music at my computer. as i sit here, im thinking of all the things i want to be doing, and am not. i really need to organize my photo collection. its such a huge task though. i dont use any dedicated photo editing program, so thats the main problem. perhaps if i used photoshop more, i would get around to organizing the pile of photos i have.

im feeling very frustrated though with my pictures. i listen to a lot of photo podcasts during the day, and feel like i have been learning a lot about photography. but i havent been getting out there and taking pictures. and the reason i think im not doing that is im feeling the camera i have is not adequate enough. or to be more exact, i feel the lenses i have are limiting me. i would love to do more low light photography, and HDR’s. definatly hdrs, i really like making them. i dont know if its because they work so well as panoramas, or if its just the added realism they add to the photo. perhaps its because of the stark realism they add to a photo. sometimes a picture doesnt do a scene justice, and the sight you are enjoying is not properly portrayed unless its as an hdr….

i have so many hobbys, its frustrating i dont have the time to spend time at them all. ive had my turntables shelved for years now, and really wish i had them out. i guess thats a problem with not having space. or is it because im afraid of causing too much noise in this apartment? our last apartment was a bunker.

i have been biking regularly though. i dont have a picture of me on the bike yet. biking to work has given me a good avenue to pedal away a lot of energy in the day. i dont know how i ever was able to spend all the time i wasted on the bus. i cant go back now. even with the rain. its all about proper gear. winter is gearing up and slowly rearing its ugly head. i used to bike every day in the rain though to ubc. so it shouldnt be a problem for me now.

rain. its going to bring the end to the flying season. rain and shorter days are no good for us. dave and i have had a good summer though. we have flown lots, crashed lots. i still prefer the calmness of my slower airplanes. i dont know if i got it from my dad, but too much speed while flying scares the shit out of me. i dont find it as enjoyable. its okay though. i got some good flights out of my funtana. though im still not as good as dave.

i found another of my favorite tv shows ever. the wire. if you havent watched it, do so now. many people have said great things about it. i swear. look it up. that and dexter are my top recommended. noa and i also found “how i met your mother”. strange title, but a great comedy.

i need to find a way to get excited about blogging again. i was so good, i was keeping a pretty regular 2 to 3 time a week update. maybe its because no one but my mom and wife read this. no one else i knows actually uses rss feeds. they changed my world. but getting back on topic, several people the last few days have asked me for various wedding photos. i tell them, ive had them up for weeks. dont you check my blog?

ohh well. i suppose most of my friends dont have the internet running in their veins like some people. now if only i could think of a great picture to add to this post, i would be set. but i dont want to open that can of worms. so this post shall stay, as it is.

pure unaltered text.

the most boring thing on the internet.

  1. Andrew, I read your blog lots, I just live in the dark ages and avoid RSS feeds (not really sure whether they are RSS or RRS). Keep up the blogging, and if you want a photo organizing program, I’d try picasa…

    Dan.

  2. Andrew, who is Dan? It might be Dan who is a photographer in his spare time, He has always been interested in your and Eriks adventures. Might be Dan Danko, my ex-direct report.
