Grouse Mountain

So this year, i got to go to grouse mountain for my company holiday party! when i woke up, it was a crisp vancouver morning, and i bundled up so i would not be cold as i waited for the bus to take my hour long journey to get to the mountain. I met some coworkers at the base of the gondola when i got there, and we rode up to the peak. when we got to the peak, it turned out to be a super clear day, and amazingly warm. we had a temperature inversion in the city, and even though it was in the minus in vancouver, the top of the mountain it was like +5 or something. so got some skiing in, and then snapped this picture from the main run.

we then had a really nice lunch with my division after a few hours of skiing, and went back out to hit the slopes for the rest of the afternoon. eventually, around sunset, i parked myself at the top of the mountain, and waited for sunset. i think i got some pretty good shots.

it really is amazing that you can drive 30 min out of vancouver, into north van, and go skiing for the day. what a city.
